Somewhere in Tunis!

This "autocanone" is something I made for the 28th painting competition on Benno's Figures Forum. The set was a gift from my wife for my birthday! Thank you dear!

Normally I don't do WWII figures or sets but this one I couldn't resist assembling and so it went in for that competition. But round two was the end.

It's a set from Italeri and it comes with a crew of eight men. Painted with acrylics.

Well here are the pictures, enjoy them.

I hope you like them!

  13. It is well done, to be sure, but you forgot to tell us what it is. I can guess from an experienced eye it is an anti-aircraft gun...but beyond that, not sure.

Also enough experience too to think there will be tarantulas in that bush.

I am somewhat on the lookout for lots more trucks, for WW2 countries, for a certain type of gaming, but they are hard to find since the store near me emphasizes expensive tank models.

  14. I see, it is an Italian 90mm anti-aircraft gun but used on ground targets, and with devastating effect, such as for the Ariete Armored Division. There's one on the Megablitz blog from July or so, but I think his is a different manufacturer's kit, maybe Skytrex.

  17. That's interesting material. It's too bad for the Italians they had not thought of using it that way sooner, and it didn't help to change up the order midstream. So they only could put 24 in the field between three mobile divisions, with none for the leg infantry. With the Air Force neutralized this is about the best weapon they had available, and I bet they wished they had more.
